    Things Nobody Warned Me About Blogging

    I knew coming into this, that blogging about my travels would take time, patience, and most of all EFFORT. Starting out, monetization was never a goal for me, and to be honest, still really isn’t. I do this because I truly enjoy it. I love seeing new places, I love learning new things, and most of all I love sharing my experiences with other people. I think if anything, travel has taught me that people are generally the same everywhere. You have your friends, and you have your foes. Nobody will agree with everything that you have to say always, and that’s perfectly fine. I have my opinions, and you…

    Explore Florida || Pensacola Beach

    Follow my blog with Bloglovin Pensacola Beach is a charming little beach town right on the Florida Panhandle. With a little bit of something to do for everyone, and being only minutes from Downtown Pensacola, Pensacola Beach is a great location for a weekend vacation. Where to Stay: You have your usual Hiltons, Marriotts, Hampton Inns, etc. but if you’re looking for something a bit more unique, check out Portofino. It’s on the pricy side, but within this resort you’ve got private pools, a spa, and a really cool little island water park. Other resorts, like the Holiday Inn within the area have lazy rivers to float away a Saturday…

    Explore Louisiana || New Orleans, The Big Easy

    Good ol’ NOLA; forever tainted with the stereotype of being a dirty, smell, dangerous city. Okay so like, Bourbon Street is, but there is so much more to New Orleans than Bourbon Street, and I’m here to tell you how I was able to learn this in only 72 short hours. Things to know before you visit: New Orleans is EXPENSIVE. Not quite as expensive as Vegas maybe, but it’s certainly up there, but there are ways to get around it, and that my friends, will take some smart planning and not letting yourself fall into all the traps that lie waiting for you. I visited New Orleans this Memorial…

    Explore Georgia || Providence Canyon (Georgia’s Little Grand Canyon)

    Let me just start by saying how impressed I am, that I’d never heard of this place before. After countless research on areas near me to go hiking, this never once popped up, until it did by accident when I was researching a different location. Talk about a happy little accident. I turned this trip into a weekender, mainly because it was about a 4.5 hour drive from where I am currently located. I grabbed a hotel, I searched up places to stop along the way, and it was such a great 48 hours of solid quality time with Jayce (doggo). Depending upon where you’re coming from, the places listed…

    Explore Alabama || Prattville and Montgomery

    Sitting about 3 hours north of Fairhope, AL lies the neighboring cities Prattville and Montgomery. Montgomery, a larger metropolitan city-like region, and Prattville, a quaint little town which actually reminded me a lot of Fairhope. If we’re being honest, the overall outcome of my visit to these two places was not the most titillating for the three hour drive, but I did get to feed a giraffe so I guess I won’t complain. Anyway, if you ever find yourself in Prattville, AL or Montgomery, AL and are looking for some things to do, things to see, or places to go, here are my favorites.  Prattville Wilderness Park800 Upper Kingston Rd.…

  • Nevada

    Explore Nevada || Vegas Baby, Vegas!

    This trip was the perfect amount of glam and grit, and perfectly planned and guided by none other than Explorer Chick travel company. My second trip with this group, and I have yet to be even SOMEWHAT disappointed. As a result, however, I cannot take credit for any of the planning that went into this trip, but I can share my experience, and hope that some of you will be encouraged to take your own trips out to beautiful Nevada, or book a different trip with Explorer Chick (sorry boys, gals only). They’re all very well coordinated, planned, accommodated, AND hella affordable; to the point where I’ve got to stare…

    Explore Alabama || Dauphin Island

    A weekend well spent. Dauphin Island is about a 1.5 hour drive from where I currently live (about 40 minutes West of Mobile). And although it’s close enough for a day trip, I would totally vacation here. Whatever your plans may be for this area however, this is what I found interesting about the island. I went early so that I could grab brunch at a cute little breakfast hut called Foxy’s Waffle Bar and Sugar Den. If you plan to go here, better make it there on a nice day because it operates like a snowball hut. There is no indoor seating, which of course I didn’t mind because,…

    Explore Alabama || Mobile

    I’m divided on this one. I’m not sure if this is because I had grown to love the city of Baltimore so much during the time I lived there, because Downtown Pensacola (40 minutes in the OTHER direction) reminds me so much of Baltimore that I can’t help but love it too, or if Mobile really just isn’t that great. I’ll be honest with you though, I wasn’t very impressed. So, Mobile is about 40 minutes from where I live in Fairhope. It’s a very small city, and the only street I found worthwhile was Dauphin St. This is one of the main strips in Downtown, Mobile. Here you’ll find…

    Explore Alabama || Spanish Fort, Daphne, and Fairhope

    I’m back y’all! *moves to the south for 4 months* The drought is officially over and I’ve caught the travel bug worse than ever. I’ve made some big changes over the last 4 months. During the end of November, I made a move across the country from Maryland to Alabama. I lost some friends along the way and made some new ones. I’ve learned quite a bit about myself during the process, and most importantly, I’m once again close to my family with miles and miles of new territory to explore. It took me a bit to get myself settled and back on the train, but here I am, and…

    Explore Colorado || From East to West

    Here’s a cliche; Colorado stole my heart. I have said for years and years that I would never live, nor visit Colorado because it was just too cold. However, in my current mission to visit all 50 states, Colorado was going to have to happen sooner or later, and google told me November was a great time to go (lies) so it happened sooner. Fact: Colorado was cold, but I had no time to think about the temperature because the entire state is just absolutely breath taking. EVERY route is the scenic route. Another fact: November was NOT the greatest time to visit. Why? Because nearly every site I wanted…
