    Explore Maryland || Jarrettsville

    This post will be short and sweet, and to the point. If you ever find yourself in Harford County, these are some great must-see places that are right underneath your noses. I found a hidden gem.   Ladew Gardens Located right off of Jarrettsville Pike lies a magical land with 23 unique gardens, exotic flowers, beautifully sculpted bush art, windmills, butterflies, and more. I found this a very therapeutic way to spend my afternoon with great scenic views and plenty of oxygen.     The gardens line the outskirts of the facility through a path, one leading right into the next. They are open year round, so the plants, leaves,…

    Disclaimer: I am not attempting to pass the information in this article as my own. Explore Virginia || Catawba and The Appalachian Trail

    Hello world! Now that I have returned from the unplugged and re-entered normal, every day life I can finally share the details of one of the most breathtaking and life-changing trips I have ever taken. Let me simply start by saying that I will be splitting this trip into two separate posts; the first covering highlights and the trip itself, and the second covering some of the most dire life saving tips I have ever received.   So my 4.5 hour drive to Virginia quickly turned into 6. It monsooned the ENTIRE way there. During these 6 hours I learned 3 very incredible things: 1) My car is totally capable…

    Things To Do During the Fall

    As much as I am an advocate for warm weather, bathing suits, and going barefoot, I have to admit that fall has to be one of my favorite seasons. There’s just something about the leaves changing colors, apple cider, window weather, boots, and scarves that puts me right in the festive mood. So naturally, I am now going to ramble about some of my favorite fall activities. (And hey, if you don’t live in Maryland, odds are similar places exist near you as well, so use these ideas to put together your own perfect fall day itinerary!)   1. Apple Picking Admittedly, this year was the first time I went…

    Explore Maryland: Prince Frederick || Calvert Cliffs State Park || Soloman’s Island

    I have lived in Maryland now for about 10+ years. This was my first time ever in Calvert County, and I regret that so much. It was such a pretty place to spend the day. The drive from Baltimore was about 1.5-2 hours depending on some of the traffic you could hit while passing through the DC surrounding area.  I left around 12:30 pm on a Saturday, and I can honestly say it wasn’t too bad. I do, however, recommend leaving early in the morning so that you have the time to explore around. Driving from destination to destination can sometimes take up to 20 minutes as everything is relatively…

    Explore Alabama: Baldwin County

    If you’re looking for a taste of all things southern, beautiful cerulean gulf waters, country side views, and a taste of urban city, Baldwin County Alabama is the perfect destination to indulge in all of the above. I came here on a solo weekend trip after my trip to Bryson City, NC was cancelled thanks to Hurricane Flo, and to be honest I could not be more grateful. The weather was a steady 90 F all weekend long, with hardly any rain. I was able to find a condo for less than $50.00 a night RIGHT on the gulf coast, so I highly recommend going during mid-September as the weather…

    St Michaels Maryland Things To Do

    St. Michael’s is a quiet little town located in a strip of land alongside the Miles River. The location is only 2 hours from Baltimore City, and is filled with local businesses, wineries, and a few museums, making for the perfect day trip. The town is heavily associated with the Chesapeake Bay and Talbot St (the main strip) has a very beachy vibe to it (the flowerbeds are potted with clam shells)!  I recommend getting an early start to the day here so that you have the perfect excuse to feed your caffeine addiction with some of the delicious brews at Rise Up Coffee, and then head out to the…
